I lie like a politician.
Of course I meant the end of Sept, not Oct.
Sept 26-30th
I've been told that the aspen forests around Ohio Pass, Crested Butte area is the largest in Co. This area is kinda the back side of Aspen and Vail. I do like the San Juan mtns very much. It does vary though in even smaller areas like the San Juans. Owl Creek Pass, Red Mountain and Silverton were all at peak color. Just a few miles away, Dallas Divide and the Telluride area was early, perhaps a week early, with about 50% still green.
