Sounds a bit rushed to me. Will you be checking out Redwoods National Park and Prairie Creek Redwoods before you start your drive? They are both worth exploring, and look for the Roosevelt Elk that live there. There are some really cool sights along the Oregon coast that you might want to spend some time taking in so your drives could end up making for a very long day. I will try to get Geyser Gary or ALR to comment as they know the Oregon coast better than I. Sounds like a fun trip though, I haven't done that drive in 29 years. :)
