I only got to meet Dave (and Deb) the one time at Canyon when they came to see us all the night before the hike into Fairyland Basin. As I recall he was mostly interested in meeting Buck, lol, maybe so he could put a face to the guy he argued with! Dave is one of those larger than life type of people and he will be sorely missed.
