46er,

This quake struck just across the Knik Arm of Cook Inlet, near Point McKenzie. It caused all kinds of damage in Anchorage, Eagle River (where I lived), Palmer, Wasilla, and points in between. A 7.1 quake hit the area in January of 2016, shortly after my hip implant, but it was much deeper, thus less damaging. I've been communicating with one of my Yellowstone hiking buddies who is visiting his mother in Wasilla. He told me they were getting a lot of strong aftershocks. A lot of roads and bridges took hits. At least 4 housed caught on fire. At least, it was not as bad as the Good Friday quake in 1964, which killed people, and literally swallowed some houses in Anchorage.
