Yea, been in it a few times. Mom is from Hannibal and we still own land nearby.
I guess this is a true story: The husband of one of my mom's cousins used to play in the cave when he was a kid. 1930s-1940s. They were in there one time and starting hearing a noise. I guess a humming or whooshing noise. It kept getting louder and louder and sounded like it was right on top of them.
It was. It was a barge on the Mississippi. The cave goes under the river.
Hannibal has a whole bunch of caves. In the 60s or early 70s, some boys got lost in one. They never did find them and eventually sealed the entrance with concrete
