it's a tragedy, yes (weird given the last guy who fell from the cables was from the same city).....but one might as well close the roads as take down the cables. I'm sure more people have fallen from any of the more popular trails over the years.....might as well close those too.
I'm betting that you and Buck both have way more experience (even in your tender twenties) than the average Half Dome/cable climber.....thus were automatically safer. Nevertheless....be careful out there!!
