Thanks for posting the link. I had not heard of this initiative. I got to know Keith Aune when we were both members of the Yellowstone Bison Citizens Working Group, but that was about 5 years ago, and I don't remember him mentioning this project.

It figures the Blackfeet would avoid all the bureaucratic obstacles the Assiniboine, Gros Ventre, and Sioux people have had to tolerate in their effort to bring back bison; and simply deal with Canada. The Blackfeet culture is one of fierce independence and self-reliance. I can't wait to see the progress of this endeavor over time.
