But you knew that. It's in the Black Hills, south of Mount Rushmore, north of Hot Springs. Apparently lots going on over there. Have you toured the Hot Springs Mammoth Site? Great stuff, but mostly large bones...fifty-something mammoths and one cave bear, plus a few smaller critters. And they even have mammoth footprints, caught in the mud as the animals got themselves trapped in the sinkhole.

So, 11,000 years ago, the general habitat may have spread the Yellowstone and Bighorn Mountain pikas as far as the Black hills!!!
