from years past. The first time we hiked Paintbrush it was in July and we were only able to get past about the 3rd backcountry site in Lower Paintbrush before we ran into snow that was too deep to negotiate with the kids. That was still a nice day hike for our family, though.
We did a nice hike at the new Rockefeller Nature Preserve last time we were there. It goes to Phelps Lake. LOTS of good options in the Tetons! You could check out Table Mt. from the Idaho side. We tried it once, but it was so overcast that we didn't get to enjoy the spectacular view that is supposed to be the highlight of the hike. We camped at the Teton Campground in the Targhee NF when we did that hike. The trail starts right at the campground.
