Lightroom 5 is $138.99 at Amazon. It will cost you again to upgrade it.
Photoshop CS6 is $1,518.99 in a box...which is now several versions behind.
You can get both programs with all updates for the next year for a grand total of $120. And, you can get both programs for an initial investment of $9.99.
In the earlier days, if they came out with CS7, you'd have had to pay $650 - $750 to upgrade from your pre-existing version CS6. And if they upgrade Lightroom you'd have to pay for that upgrade.
If you are worried about needing to keep paying for PS Cloud to be able to open your Photoshop documents, you can always simply save files as TIF files which can be opened by just about every other program.
For $120 a year...seems like a slam dunk to me. The new versions of CC are much, much better and they include support for all the new cameras.
Again, I don't care if people buy into the Cloud option, but after a couple of years, I couldn't and wouldn't go back. Not for this price anyway!
There's a lot of bad information spread about the Cloud. I hope this helps people on the fence.
