As to power, for birding and general wildlife, I use 10x50 and 12x50; Leupold Wind River Olympics in the 10X (no longer sold, I have had these for many years, my go to bins), Nikon Monarchs in the 12X (no fault lifetime warranty). If you can, find a shop that carries what your interested and try them. There can be big differences besides power between brands. As with camera lenses, it is all about construction and the glass; you do get what you pay for.
