...so I've decided to give up. Now your post gives me more reason to shun tofu. I like it OK in those chinese soups, like hot-and-sour, because there's not much and it's such small chunks, but a while back I tried a Thai rice mix and added tofu instead of meat, but ended up fishing all the tofu chunks out of it so I could enjoy the rice. I don't know what it is, but it's not the flavor. Heck, it hardly has any flavor. I think it must be the consistency, but it nearly makes me gag. I give up, and probably just as well after reading what you just posted. Tofu is out!
