And NO, it wasn't former Wasilla mayor, Sarah Palin.
We were in Talkeetna yesterday, and met Mayor Stubbs. The link will take you to a fairly entertaining article about the Mayor. It does perpetuate the myth of the write-in election victory. If you want more accurate, relatively current info, copy and paste this link:

After eating reindeer stew for lunch at the Talkeetna Road House, we went for a flight to Mt. McKinley in Denali National Park. We landed on the upper Ruth Glacier in 4 inches of fresh powder at an approximate elevation of 5,000 feet. It was a bluebird day, and we got lots of amazing glacier and mountain photos.
After the 6.2 earthquake a few weeks ago, there were lots of avalanches in the area, which was not too far from the epicenter. I was going crazy, trying to photo document some of the slides, most of which have recent snow accumulation on them.
Once I complete the editing and filing process, I'll try to post a few.
